Executing a Complex Multi-Modal Engine Transport from Germany to the USA

On behalf of our customer Everllence, 7WL’s Project Team was nominated to handle the transport of 2 engines 6L4860CR, each 890 × 325 × 565 cm and 130 tons, to Fincantieri SY, Sturgeon Bay, United States of America.

We have taken over the engines at the German inland port of Mannheim by barge for sea freight ex Antwerp to Milwaukee by MV “Federal Clyde.” After arrival and discharge at POD, the engines have been reloaded within a 2-day timeframe onto a 240 ft deck barge for the 2nd leg via Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin.

This movement shows exactly why we love our job! Nice cargo, tough timeline, different modes of transport, and many partners involved…

7WL would like to share a big “thanks” to all our partners for this project and our customer Everllence for their trust!
