Another Challenging Transport of a Large Crane Girder Across Germany

7WL has once again been entrusted with a demanding overhead crane transport — this time from Eastern Germany to the end user near Hannover. What sounded simple on paper turned into a highly coordinated logistical mission.

After weeks of detailed planning, two massive crane girder units and all supporting equipment were finally ready to move. But the route held a decisive challenge: a local railway crossing combined with overhead high-voltage power lines. To allow the transport to pass safely, the power lines had to be temporarily disconnected — a maneuver requiring absolute precision, tight timing, and seamless communication between all parties involved.

With our team personally on site during loading and accompanying the entire transport route, 7WL stayed close to the cargo at every step. This presence allowed us to maintain full control even at the most critical moment of the operation.

Transporting oversized crane components is part of our DNA at 7WL. We are proud of our long-standing expertise — and grateful for the trust our customers continue to place in us.
